Recently, The Westin Bund Center, Shanghai's Starwood Careers Next Generation launch party was held for around 60 managers along with their outstanding talents.

The event began with an uplifting speech delivered by the hotel's General Manager, Mr. Andreas Trauttmansdorff, in which he urged all new Starwood Careers candidates to throw themselves wholeheartedly into the training and development programs carefully planned by their direct managers.

To prepare the direct managers and mentors for their role as talent coaches, Assistant Training Manager, Ms. Sophia Wu, shared coaching skills and tips, while Training Officer, Ms. Tina Lin, gave detailed instructions on how one could use the Starwood Careers online system for development planning and monitoring.

Beyond equipping talents and their mentors with useful skills and knowledge, successful stories of Starwood Careers candidates were shared so that everyone could envision and be excited by the success that would follow.

To commemorate the start of their journey, every candidate received personalized gifts including a bookmark and a Starwood Careers mug.

Miley Chen, one of the candidates told us: “This bookmark and the pin will always remind me of my responsibility and the challenges I will face this year. I’m ready for the learning opportunities ahead of me!”
