The Talent Development & Culture 2012 Conference for Greater China Region was successfully held in The Westin Xiamen from 21 to 23 August. With the theme “Back to The Future”, the conference brought almost 100 participants on an exciting journey of “time travel”.

To open the event, Mr. Qian Jin, Mr. Francis Tan, and Mr. Stanley Zhang shared updates about the company and TDC with all participants. Besides the presentation, the four TDC core initiatives - Starwood Cares, Starwood Careers, Brand Service Culture and Property TDC System were also discussed actively by the participants.

However, that was just the tip of the iceberg. We were honoured to invite four distinguished speakers - Mr. Qian Jin, Mr. Stephen Ho, Ms. Catherine Han and Ms. Christina Yu to join us with motivating speeches on various topics and share their inspiring personal stories.

We seized this great opportunity to officially launch the Starwood Cares Weibo, which is now open to the public. Apart from all that, an interesting TDC Expo was successfully organised which aimed to enhance the communication among different areas, and to let participants learn from sister hotels through face-to-face consultation and area presentations.

The informal part of the conference was also unforgettable. We had the TDC Night, which showcased the TDC Award Ceremony that was specially designed to recognise our Associates, Teams and Leaders who had demonstrated exceptional behaviours and achievements in the TDC function. On the other hand, Gift Auction showed our Care for Community in a broad way. Thanks to everyone’s generous contributions, we achieved great results for this charitable auction.

The three days in Xiamen were a memorable “time travel” experience for all of us. It was not only a celebration of the great results we had achieved, but also the starting point for stronger relationships with our hotels to take TDC to a new milestone.

Let’s remember this moment and keep the spirit alive!
